Who needs housing? Who's got some

The Chicago Zine Fest is about a month away!  We have a number of exhibitors coming in from out of town who may need a place to crash while they're here.  One way of finding a place can be to use this forum to find folks who need housing or have housing.

Need housing for two

Hey,
A friend and I are coming up to Chicago from Normal for Zinefest and would really love to be there for the whole thing, but as of right now, don't have a place to stay!
It'd be awesome to not have to drive up and back on Saturday, so if you're feeling generous, send me an email at dfairban@iwu.edu

We need a place to stay!

Our housing plans fell through. There are five of us traveling from Buffalo-ish and we need a place to stay. We will give you beer (if you drink!) tons of beer.. like 30 cans! or make you dinner! Email us if you have space available. zinophobia69er@gmail.com Don

Housing for 2

Hi all, Couch space available for two at our apartment in North Center. Public transit is a cinch, 2 blocks away from the Brown Line. I'll be out at Zine Fest events almost the entire weekend, so we can travel together if you like. No animals live here except my 3 roommates, and there are beer, various kinds of smoke, and possibly meat around, though of course we are not assholes about it. Give me a shout at nomorecoffeezine@gmail.com. - Ben

More Room!

Hey, my name is Xavier and I have plenty o'room for anyone who needs a place to stay for the weekend. We live 5 minutes from the blue line and most of us are tabling so transportation is no big deal. We've got some cats and we're all vegan and we drink so if that's cool with you shoot me an e-mail. Thanks! wearethemovingcastle@gmail.com

in need of a nice warm floor!

Hi there. I'm Liz. My husband and I are planning to come into town for the fest sometime Friday and stay through Sunday. We just need a floor to sleep on. We shall bring zines and pretty pictures. I'll probably try to feed you dinner. There's one catch- I'm super allergic to cats. Pretty lame, huh? I'm a nursing student. My husband plays guitar and draws better than I do. My email is crochetsrebellion at gmail dot com. Thanks so much.

Housing

Hey kids, My name's Karen and I live in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. I'm willing to offer housing to people coming up for the fest. I live upstairs, got a couple roommates who live downstairs. I have tons of carpeted floorspace (very comfy floor, might I add) and some blankets/pillows and a mattress pad to offer for anyone willing. I may be able to work out something to have someone crash on the couch downstairs, but don't wanna be too intrusive on the roomies. We're an all veggie household but you can cook whatever you want. You do need to be okay with pets though; my roommate has three cats and a dog. One of the cats stays up on my floor and the rest are downstairs. If you're not familiar with it, I live in a very convenient and lively neighborhood. I live close to the blueline, which is a few minutes from Wicker Park/Quimby's and about fifteen minutes from downtown. There's also a lot of great local restaurants/bars/shops if you're into that. I'll be working Sunday that weekend but should be at the fest both days otherwise and am going to a show at the Beat Kitchen Friday night if you're interested in joining. Let me know! -Karen

hi!!

Karen, Do you still have zine fest space? You didn't list your email so I'm replying here. Email me at blacklightdiner at gmail dot com! --Erica

Looking for a place to crash!

Hey dudes, My name's Megan and I'm coming to Chicago for the zine fest from Toronto, Canada. I'm probably coming down on Thursday the 24th and leaving either Sunday or Monday morning. If you can put me up that would be awesome... I can bring my own sleeping bag and am totally down with either couch or floor space, not picky at all. I'm veg but I don't care if you are, and I do drink so hopefully you are ok with that as well since I'll probably be drinking while I'm in town. I'd be especially stoked to meet some fellow punks and / or anarcha-types, but it's all good. I'm reasonably self-sufficient but would appreciate if you can give me advice on navigating. I will bring you tasty vegan cookies and be yr new friend! Please either answer on here or email me at meganspeers(at)rogers(dot)com if you can help me out! Cheers, Megan

Wanna house zinester twins for the weekend?

Hi everyone! My sister and I are going to be in Chicago for a few days and we'd like to find a place to stay together. I'm Amber, I make a zine called Culture Slut and run Fight Boredom Distro. My sister's name is Maranda and she makes a zine called Telegram Ma'am. I'm cool with floor-sleeping, and Maranda would prefer to have a bed or a couch. We're quiet houseguests and will of course be out most of the time. Hopefully your place is near the CZF venue, or easy-to-get-to with public transit. If you happen to have extra blankets, that would be pretty awesome, as we're very light travelers. We'll give you free zines as a thank you. You can email me at amber.norreanATgmail.com and we'll work something out. Cheers!

looking for a place to stay friday night

hi! my name is katie; i'm coming to the zine fest from kent ohio and am looking for a place to stay friday night. i dont smoke and i really don't have any preferances about if a place i stay is loud or quiet, sober or not, lots of pets or none, kids or no kids, smoking or non. i'll be happy pretty much anywhere! :) since i'm taking the megabus the only thing i'd really need is to stay somewhere near public transportation, but i'm guessing anywhere in chicago will be near public transport that could get me to the fest :) if anyone has some space in their home that i could stay a night, my email address is ktroha@kent.edu. thank you!! <3

Hello folks! Im flying in from Ottawa, Ontario and looking for a place to stay during zine fest! It'll be my first time in chicago, but Im pretty good with directions and using the transit, so the closer to a decent route the better! bunk up the jam

i'm looking for a couch to crash the weekend of the zine fest. i'll be flying in Thursday evening from Pittsburgh and leaving Monday morning. close to public transit would be cool. pets are preferred! i'll miss my cat and dogs while i'm gone. vegan and drug free but beer is cool. if you've got a place for me to crash, i'll grab some dinner for us, share my zines, and if this is a selling point: i'll see what i can do to share my kinko's employee discount to help copy some of your stuff for the zine fest. let's do this! -Bree

yup, i'm still looking. i'll sweeten the pot with some of my artwork and a mixtape! i'm a neurotic planner, so help me be a little less neurotic about figuring out where to stay. thanks! :)

Hi Amy, Please contact me off list to discuss options. Fereshteh 315water@gmail.com

housing please?

I'm also looking for a place to crash! No restrictions, except that I'd like it to be either a place near public transportation, or staying with someone who won't mind driving me to the fest or to a transit stop (although I gather that Chicago is pretty heavy on public transportation, which is great). Couches and floors are both fine. I will be coming in Friday morning, leaving Sunday afternoon. I will buy you dinner! And can offer future reciprocal housing in the Baltimore area if you need it. Please email blacklightdiner at gmail dot com. Thanks in advance! --Erica

Please feel free to contact me through my email: sdrake.cc@gmail.com Best, - Sara

I still need to talk with my

I still need to talk with my roommates, but we'll probably have space at our place for folks.  Most of us are organizers for the fest, so we'll be leaving early and coming back late, but I'm sure we could work something out.
